Matt Gedye was born in South Africa, holds an Australian passport, and has a green card allowing him to live and work in the United States. He transitioned from a personal trainer to a nutrition and physiology researcher and is currently a PhD candidate in exercise physiology and molecular genetics. He enjoys writing and started a journal in his early twenties. His blog covers a range of topics, from music and craft beer to reflections on fatherhood and travel. He is passionate about wildlife and values experiences and time with loved ones.

This has served as my personal blog and project portfolio for more than 26 years now, although I've redesigned it so many times that I've repeatedly lost earlier content. These days I'm occasionally posting about software, technical due diligence, AI, and my Ironman training progress.
